Gordon Cooper Technology Center hosted 74 runners in a socially-distanced version of its annual GCTC Foundation Rocket Man Run Saturday at the GCTC Aviation Campus.
The Rocket Man Run 5K, originally scheduled for April 4, is an annual event to support of the Gordon Cooper Technology Center Foundation. More participants took part in the one-mile fun run.
The top finisher of the 5K race was Dax Lewis, who completed the course in 21 minutes, 44 seconds. Luke Campbell, Bobbi Rogers, Miguel Gomez and Thomas Firme rounded out the Top-5.
All runners who finished in the Top-25 will be mailed a medal to commemorate their achievement.
The race began at 7 a.m. and featured a staggered start to help to help with social distancing. To see full results from the 2020 Rocket Man Run, click here.
The Gordon Cooper Technology Center Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. The Foundation receives its funding entirely from the donations and focuses on solving short-term emergency needs for students so they can focus on their education and future.
